Here's the odd part in all this: The film is supposed to be vague as to whether "Babadook" is actually a supernatural entity, or merely a representation of the mother's grief and growing resentment (ie there is non actual monster, emphasizing psychological horror). Its designed so that BOTH interpretations are equally valid.
