I agree that ugliness has become the new 'in'. All you have to do is look at what is seen as high art these days. Pieces which fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars are as ugly as shit. All you have to do is say, 'It speaks to the juxtaposition of the sacred and the profane...' or make up any such bullshit, and rich people get suckered.
