i thought the anthrax was targeted to preempt the Democrats from objecting to the on coming war, same with the media. The media was also targeted. I remember all of that, and it was clearly a message.

post deleted, no surprise. I vaguely remember that Dashle was able to get his office completely renovated due to the anthrax, so that would have been a win for him. Check what committees that D and L were on, I don't remember but its probably significant.

Also the anthrax created an upgrade to the US mail scanning and tracking system, reducing citizen privacy there.

That whole anthrax crap investigation makes me very angry. So totally bullshit from day one. There was a lot of street talk in NY at the time, fears of water supply contamination, stories of people who "should have been on the planes" but were weirdly called and rebooked, eye witness accounts that don't add up, and then the anthrax, which was both a distraction and a message.
