My 2 cents since you ask: Parents and guardians need to protect autistic individuals, even high-functioning and adult, just as they would a child, using parental controls on devices, etc. If that doesn't work, access to devices should be removed. Prevention is required. We can feel sorry for the plight of an autistic individual, but not sorry enough to allow him/her to download child porn and start on the slippery slope to harming children. Failure of parents and guardians to restrict access to illegal activities of any kind should be a punishable offense because it puts the autistic person AND children in danger. The "misunderstanding" defense doesn't cut it. Not sure why you mention male versus female. It should be, and I believe is, irrelevant in the eyes of the law. You differentiate between autistic individuals who commit crimes and "real criminals." This is a false distinction. All people who download child porn or hurt children are criminals. The only difference is the added crime of failure of the parent or guardian to protect the austistic person from entering a life of crime.
