I would say eh...it's basically a military dictatorship. They are definitely about cracking down on corruption, but in Thailand corruption is pervasive and a way of life. The cops basically live off bribes...but the 'Girls as Dessert' article about trafficking in the North where I used to live is showing that they paying more scrutiny towards trafficking in general. There is so much trafficking in Thailand from all over southeast asia: drugs, girls and migrant labor. Burma is where all the meth and yaba comes from, Laos a lot of the opium.

The one thing the military government is about is NO SEX, NO PROSTITUTION, even though in Thailand, prostitution is quasi-legal. The military government are extremely conservative in all things having to do with sexuality. This could be more about making a statement about stamping out 'unethical behavior' and not really about addressing serious human rights issues. In Thailand there is no freedom of speech or assembly. If you get charges with lese majeste (speaking against the monarchy) you can go to prison for years if not decades. But I really hope that they do crack down on trafficking, because it's a huge problem there. (I lived there for 2 years).
