Well, I also wanted to take a look at the Bridgehouse and Chicago River Museum. Good thing I did. There was a pic of a porthole you could look through and I saw the part under the bridge that you can walk through and it is very dark in there. Even darker at night. Small little people might not bee seen when taken through there. Just a thought. Also, there was a plaque dedicated to Irv Kupcinet. Now the only way I remembered him was a horrible thing that was in the papers years ago. 1963 was the year that his daughter was murdered in LA. She was Karyn Kupcinet and she was out there trying to make her way to the top in Hollywood. It was in the papers for quite some time. The murder was never solved. But during my conversation with Bruce Moffat, he left me with this one tantalizing tidbit: “If you go to the corner of LaSalle and Kinzie,” he said, “you’ll find a manhole cover that leads down into the tunnels.” This made me want to finish reading. I truthfully believe there is something going on in those tunnels. There is one large manhole cover that is locked. There is another point at which they looked down a hole, but it was too dark and the guy said that is where the tunnel went, under that middle lane. There must be some kind of camera with a long tube and eye that you could stick through that hole and maybe get a picture? Idk, I am not an expert on high tech cameras. Just Whoa, if that is possible. Another curious thought. They said those tunnels were finished just months before the Chicago Fire. Hmm. Mighty convenient timing, imo.
