That's so sad 😪 I imagine all these people, probably mostly children, that have been held captive until today's sacrifice. The fear they must be feeling. The fear becoming much worse once they are taken to be sacrificed and they see all these human demons about to kill you. Dear God. I can't even stand the thought.

I like to think the one gift we all have is to imagine better. I often imagine all of these children find a way out, that the sacrifice does not go down as expected because the priest gets a flat, the fire alarm goes off, the kids escape, the keeper thinks better of it or some amazing situation I cannot even imagine spares these kids. I imagine them safe and loved. It is really a prayer.
