This is a great example of how abuse of children slips through the cracks. Here, the information of the abuse itself is shut down by a corporation that doesn't want the press or the stress that doing the right thing would entail. What happens in a lot of cases is that people surrounding the case simply begin lying. That's when victims get blamed, shamed, or disbelieved and isolated. Very often it's that second round of abuse that does more long-term damage to the children than the first.
