Tons of Youtube vidoes saying both Bieber and Perry are Illuminati shills/puppets.

code_wizard_io

I understand the point my friend, but I just seem to switch off when I see 'Snopes' in the title of anything.

code_wizard_io

'Snopes'... stopped reading after that.

You're not kidding. The PizzaGate sub is filled with trolls and mopes. It's probably a good thing I'm not a mod there because I'm much quicker with the delete button than they are.

HarveyKlinger

I do. I find pointing out the shortcomings of others entertaining. Especially when they're wrong, refuse to admit they're wrong, and get REALLY angry about it. :)

Precipitate

I have a feeling it's the latter. Though I do have a tendency to attribute to malice what could easily be attributed to stupidity. The current political climate just has me so pissed that I've been finding it harder to just write people off as stupid.

Precipitate

They tend to mislead more than flat out lie, but I have seen some flat out lies on there. NeonNettle and YourNewsWire completely make up all of their scoops. They do report on true stories that have already been reported elsewhere, but if the story originates form them then you can be sure it's 100% bullshit.

HarveyKlinger

Hilariously, when I called out the Bieber story as bullshit I got attacked by a couple mopes here on VOAT about how wrong I was, how foolish I will look when it all comes out as FACT, and the LITERALLY fake news site was somehow not fake news on this article.

Snopes though? Worthless. If some of the articles are inaccurate, they are all inaccurate by assumption.

Precipitate

Snopes is often a shit source itself, but neonettle and YourNewsWire are far worse. At this point I've about given up on pizzagate. It's been shilled too hard and there's way too much bullshit here muddying the waters. It's starting to become a problem across voat as a whole too. So many shitty blogs with inaccurate or totally made up stories. It wouldn't be much of a problem if not for that fact that the majority of people just believe what they want to believe and throw objectivity out the window. It's sad that these same people will preach about facts over feels, but then upvote any bullshit article that makes them feel good or right or vindicated in some way.

Great commentary. And yes, many of the posters already come in with built-in biases due to their cultural/religious biases. Which makes objectivity impossible.

I think no matter the story, why not at least mention it? They are usually commented and called what they are...

For those celeb individuals specifically, they are clearly dealing with some soul searching in their lives. Who knows what the cause...

Yes I'll admit I looked into both of them...I don't think voat needs to worry about credibility. Most of the world has no idea this community exists and would call you crazy for commenting anyways...

HarveyKlinger

Did you just use Snopes to make fun of fake news? Wow, talk about looking stupid. Snopes is as bad as any other fake news site on the interwebs.
