All of this stuff (criminal charges) needs to start with easy to prove problems they have, like giving false information on a loan application to FDIC. It's a rather minor infraction compared to a charge of espionage, but easy to leverage when you have more in the bag.

With all due respect, Blacksmith21, jail is not simply jail, and prison is not simply prison -- at least not for the wealthy and politically connected. If he gets any time, it will be in a federal comfy prison where he will be given VIP treatment and likely a Swiss bank account to live out his retirement in luxury -- that is; unless he decides to turn evidence and implicate others. But I doubt that.
