Florida is one of the worst states for human trafficking. A few years ago, wealthy Republican socialite Elizabeth Melendez-Fisher started Selah Freedom , a rescue and support organization for sex slaves and prostitutes based in Sarasota.

The Sarasota airport isn't the only airport in Florida under suspicion. In fact, the recent move to install John Stafford to run Sarasota may be part of a plan to shift operations away from sites under heavier surveillance, like Venice Municipal, where two of the four 9/11 pilots trained .

What is especially interesting in the story linked above is that notorious CIA-connected drug smuggler Stephen Ruth used to operate out of Venice Municipal Airport. The non-corrupt Sarasota Sheriff's Office pursued Ruth for years, but he was too well-connected. In one episode, Ruth's plane was forced down by Air Force jets at Sarasota airport, where the Sarasota cops held him for not filing a flight plan. The Feds then let Ruth go.

So fast forward a few years, and Sarasota Airport is no longer under the jurisdiction of the Sarasota Sheriff's office. It has its own police force, as I noted in a comment on the previous Sarasota thread . Very interesting!
