This is weird indeed. The guy is an obscure civil servant, not a Trump appointee. If he was indeed a pedo, and subject to blackmail or a willing part of the pedo network, then Trump's opponents would have wanted him to continue working with the commission. He could slow down its work, misdirect it, leak info, and so on. Him being fired does not help them. He can be replaced with someone unfriendly to their cause.

How often is the NCMEC handing over specific IP addresses? If they had access to these IP addresses and the website they came from, we would have heard about it.
