This is the relevant video: Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes 2016

There are several parts where he hinted at Hollywood's degeneracy, and while there is a potential for confirmation bias on my part, there seems to be too many hints to be mere coincidences. I list the interesting parts of the video below:

  • (00:30) calling them "disgusting pill-popping sexually deviant scum"

  • (02:25) talking about being jacked off by an old man

  • (03:37) showing (by eliciting great laughter) that golden globes are acquired through bribing

  • (04:18) mentioning Polanski's pedophilia, surprising the audience and spurring nervous laughter accompanied by Maggie Gyllenhaal's facial expression of something along the lines of "you're stepping into deep water"

  • (12:50) introducing Mel Gibson who is /ourguy/, and hugging him, making Mel the only person he actually greeted on that stage

  • (14:35) saying goodbye by saying "From myself and Mel Gibson, shalom!"

He is of course saying all of the things jokingly, so it is very possible that I am reading too much into it.

He's not tolerant at all of religion and spiritual malarky. That makes him a good candidate to be a guy whose NOT involved in cult activities. He always tells you how it is. He just may be genuine... I believe he has real disdain for these fucks due to his past experiences.

To add, he also says at the very beginning "I'm going to do this monologue, then go into hiding."

Like you said, he could be joking, or he could be completely serious, veiling it in comedy.

Ricky G is from a rough area in Reading a very working class background... seems very English to me..... he is mega rich as he writes his own comedy with the tall bloke and US TV studios would have to pay rights to him for The Office

There are no coincidences. I believe he may have been higher than a kite and just let loose. I am surprised he is still around, kidding or no kidding. Or was this just a ruse, you know, them laughing at themselves, to make us all think it is one big joke. Who knows, they are all so evil and devious.

I wouldn't praise Mel Gibson just yet. While he's undeniably talented he's connected to more than one shocking scandal he tried to hastily cover up.

I think there is No such thing as /ourguy. A Merit based society won't have insiders and outsiders it will reward certain behaviors regardless of that persons other history. Hard for us since we are so tribal wired but its better higher system.
