A possibility: If he was ripping off the McCann's, it stands to reason he might have faked actually doing the work. My guess would be that an inside source told the investigator the Podestas were behind the abduction, and the investigator then created the Efits, providing a fake story for their origin. This was perhaps the best way to protect himself and his source from retaliation (murder), while still leaking a strong hint. This seems likely, given other evidence implicating the Podestas.

Always been my opinion. And still, the people responsible for putting out the pics may have paid dearly and been retaliated against in ways we don't know about.
