Sorry, I guess this is a personal feeling of mine that there are pedophiles waiting for these types of laws to remain on the books to be able to marry teens. Through my work I know a lot of people who got parental consent and married at 17 because they were having a baby, and it was something they wanted to do. I don't think someone should be forced to wait until 18 to get married if they feel it is right for them to do so sooner. I guess, I am worried because of the articles we see on here and reports of people doing almost anything for money, like selling their children off. It seems there are so many people that think nothing of making money off of their sons and daughters for a fee. Yes, I think that this law that allowed all of these children to get married, really ran amok. Many decades ago some of my relatives married in small towns in Austria. Things were different then. This was on farms where people could grow their own food, and Mom stayed home to take care of the children and do laundry and cooking. Now things have been arranged so that we can no longer have that type of life. My mother and dad both had to work when we came here as Immigrants, and it was very hard, but we became Middle Class. Now not so much. My Mom and Dad were 18 and 19 when married. My schoolmates marveled at how young my parents were. So, things had already started to change here.
