A lot of victims of sexual abuse try to change their appearance, lots of the time purposefully unattractive.

The sexual abuse victims don't have an emotional reality strong enough to proclaim,"I have been assaulted, I will become strong enough that no one can hurt me". Or most of them don't.

A coworker of mine says she was sexually abused for years by her step father. He made comments about het weight when she hit puberty so she decided to get him to leave her alone she would get fat, to stay safe. She is very fat to this day, still takes a lot of crap from men. Unfortunately, girls without good dads to teach them they are worthy of love, respect, and protection never seem to believe it deep down.
