However, I would like to ask you to please edit your headline - the 'United Against Fascism' crowd protested against a rally of the 'Democratic Football Lads Alliance'. TL;DR: It was an antifa group that tried to crash the protests, not local residents who were holding a demo pro Muslim rape gangs.

Football lads is the last form of identity many of them have. They're not allowed to be proud of being English (and why would they, with the way their central government treats them), so they take pride in something more local. The more that these people have allegiance to their own communities/towns instead of their Federal government, the better.
