If you make webpage screenshots, you can make it into a pdf or a long full page screenshot. Keep a copy on your computer. That’s what I did... http://i.imgs.fyi/img/32m7.jpg

Thanks srayzie I did not know webpages could be made into .pdf's or long page screenshots. Very helpful!

You’re welcome! All you need is bookmarklets or a browser extension. I dimit on an iPad so of course I have APPS GALORE! If you don’t know how to get extensions or bookmarklets and need help, let me know. A lot of people don’t know how!

I downloaded the free trial of FastStoneCapture. Do you know of a free one?

srayzie

Yeah there are free ones. I’ll get on my laptop in a little bit and get them. You can even crop them and annotate them before saving. I don’t know what I would do. I think in chrome, one of the extensions is called Awesome screenshot. I’ll look tho.

Create free mega.nz account and archive there. Free 50 GB is enough for archiving news articles and other research.

srayzie

That’s a great idea. I have one. I love it. I use it for Memes. I need to update it! I have a lot. Here’s mine! https://mega.nz/#F !bgdQzCRS!2_3lrSDLFaOaIY_CxBQ7DA

The Washington Post and some other news sites don't archive well through certain sites.

BabalonWorking

I figured this was going to happen.

Yuke

I had the same problem about a week ago when archiving some pages. I guess it's no surprise that they would go after these sites as they are insurance for the good guys. Exactly what the consor-happy don't want.

Blacksmith21

Search on "archive" on Q's post. That should tell you something. Almost everything is compromised. There is just such a volume of it that they have a hard time sourcing and keeping up and the servers talk to each other....

washington compost interferes with archive.is

never use wapo, downvote and report anyone that does

By the time I had put my post together and submitted it, one link no longer worked. This is what was shown...

So I decided to go to the wayback machine and archive it there. It worked fine. This is a screenshot

I went to double check and make sure the link still worked. It didn’t! But it said

When I clicked on the links, this is what I saw...

A few minutes later, it was this...

None of these screencaps display the link used to get to the content you imaged. In other words, your screencaps could be fake.

srayzie

Oh whatever lol. Why would I do that? People know me here. I’m trustworthy. If you don’t believe me, oh well.

We are thinking it’s because of Washington post. CIA runs it.

Actually I was suggesting future posts contain that info so idjuts like me don't fret about it ;-) PG is so convoluted with psyop crap it helps to be digitally clear with information.

I agree with you but we must find an alternative for archiving. At least wayback used to give you an "page has been removed" error. This is not the first time both pages have been archived, I got the same error recently.

Huh something IS fishy, although the archive works, wayback's index cant find it.

Archive works but when I tried archive.is it took too long, it was doing its thing but stopped midway (didnt freeze, just stopped loading after 50-100 lines of links). I though my internet connection was shitty so I reloaded the link on another tab while keeping the first one open. Closed one tab and refreshed the page and got the same error.

Archive sites in general are too enigmatic to be considered secure hosts. You really cannot determine who is holding the keys to the server, regardless of the domain (.org .is .ro etc.).
