Lena Dunham had some advice for her more than 5.5 million Twitter followers on Tuesday, warning them to “never trust anyone who doesn’t regularly french kiss animals.”

What bothers me about it however, is how much rage and resentment towards men it reveals, all done under that pop culture mentality where such things are thought to be so brave and witty. It’s a rather demeaning commentary, as if comparing your boyfriend to a dog wouldn’t be demeaning right from the start, but it goes farther than that, it mocks, it ridicules, it disrespects, and it tries to humiliate this guy by pointing out his flaws and weaknesses to an entire audience of readers.

I remember watching an old episode of a comedy show called Shooting Stars , a parody celebrity quiz show about a year or two ago. There was always a 'clips round' which featured a short, comedic sketch by the hosts of the show (Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer) and some of the guests. The episode in question had a sketch where one of the gang showed up impersonating Jimmy Savile, (the episode originally aired in the mid 90s when Savile was still alive) but that part was cut out in this rerun. I remember thinking it was odd cutting that part out as it robbed the sketch of its punchline, but fully appreciating why, as it would not be appropriate to show that paedo-Satanic filth in any context. At the same time Shooting Stars was on, another station was showing one of Lena Dunham's films. I remember thinking at the time, how can they (rightly) cut a scene featuring Savile but show a film starring an admitted incestuous paedophile; a piece of shit who openly bragged in an autobiography of sexually assaulting her 3 year old sister and plying the child with sweets to get her to watch her masturbate?

That makes a twisted sort of sense. Animals and children often understand things on similar levels. I've seen cats that could read better than most 1st graders. My friend's old cat used to actually turn on her (own) ipad and use it to turn on the tv and watch cartoons on netflix. It was cute and kind of creepy how smart that thing was.

I wish I could. The kitty passed away from cancer towards the end of last year. Shes training her new kitties so maybe in a year or two it will be possible, but as smart as the new kittens are and as amazing of a trainer, its extremely rare to have an animal on That intelligence level.
