According to the recent Pennsylvania Grand Jury report on Catholic Church diocesian child abuse, one of the expriests that was allowed to leave after child abuse accusations was Edward G. Ganser. Ganser left with a glowing recommendation for his next job:

And the Diocese wrote him the reference letter that secured the job for him. He spent the next 15 years driving the train for Disney: "He really loved trains," his wife said. She was also quoted in his 2014 obituary " Ganster had been a priest for 18 years, then he was released from the priestly state with the pope's blessing, his wife said. Grand jury report based on subpoenaed Church documents said otherwise: he had become a liability to the Church because of abuse allegations so he "decided" to get married and move to Florida.

Apparently after the Disney stint he became affiliated with New Hope Christian Academy in Clermont and Minneola,Fl where as the founder of Operation Safety 91 ( a non profit that passed out Psalm 91 cards to police chaplains, firemen, LEO, ex military, first reponders ) he brought honored guests to the school . http://operationsafety91.blogspot.com/2010/04/os91-brings-us-hero-william-castillo-to.html

LEO loved him:

His wife painted portraits of military and LEO heros, his organization offered scholarships to children. He persuaded people like Col. Danny R. McKnight US Army Ret.( Purple Heart recipient, veteran of Black Hawk Down (Mogadishu 1993). Brevard Co. Fl. Homeland Security Coordinator) to be Operation Safety 91's VP.

Because Church records are locked up (until a grand jury subpoenas them) and only the Bishop has the key, LEO most probably didn't have access to the current info on this alleged predator. But either LEO isn't too sharp (a 47 yo ex Catholic priest that wants to drive the Disney train for 15 years!) or Ganster fell in with similar ilk. And that's a scary thought.

I'm sure they both needed each other to present as a Christian team doing good for children and LEO,promoting "traditional" values. As a single male, he probably wouldn't have gone far at penetrating schools. As a single female, she probably wouldn't have gone far with LEO and the military. As a widow, she can still push that charitable Operation Safety 91 and count on the sympathy angle.

But they did give a negative review, in house which has only come up now that the grand jury subpoenaed the diocese. Nothing was proven because the victims stayed mute till past the statute of limitations (usually the case with child abuse perpetrated by figures of authority). The perpetrators/priests/bishops count on this to keep their activities protected. Hopefully, grand juries will apply enough publicity to have laws changed to benefit the victims and not the perpetrators. Me too outrage isn't just for Hollywood actors.

He really loved trains, his wife said. NO. He loved having children riding those trains. Since there were accusations of abuse before the Church absolved him of his duties, then he would be more than happy to drive a Loaded Disney Train filled with Children. This is so obvious. If people really think that these priests that are absolved by the church and do a life time of penance are not continuing their abuse of Our Children, well then you are asleep.
