In an extraordinary 11-page written testament, one which the NYT's Ross Douthat called a "truly historic bombshell", a former papal nunco, or Vatican ambassador, to the US, it does what many have called for, and offers testimony concerning "who in the hierarchy knew what, and when," about the crimes of Cardinal McCarrick. The testimony implicates a host of high-ranking churchmen. And the pope. Vigano said that he told Pope Francis in 2013 about allegations of sexual abuse against a prominent priest — and that Francis took no action. Now, the former official, Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, 77, is calling for Francis to step down. Nearly 100 of the accused clergy are from the Pittsburgh diocese alone, where Donald Wuerl,
the current cardinal of Washington, D.C.
, was the bishop for 18 years.

Enough already. 100 in Pittsburgh? How many in New York? How any in Atlanta? How many in Rome? The time has come for the truth to come out and for this church to disappear from the face of the earth.

Hadn't seen this before.
As NPR reported in 2016, Viganò came under fire for setting up the pope's meeting with controversial Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis in the fall of 2015. Weeks before the meeting, Davis had been put in jail over her refusal to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

...God forbid someone in the Catholic church stand up for Christian principles, nice to see someone in a position of power attempting to do the right thing - I feel bad for a lot of Catholics to be honest, I believe many actually have a heart to live for God and just don't realize how misguided the doctrines of the church truly are

I also believe many Catholics have wondered where are those that we can look up to and follow the laws of the Church that we have been brought up on. We have a pope that allows Our Children to be raped and abused in many ways without allowing the punishment of those that perform these horrid criminal acts. He has given many a pass and now that he has been called out by a High Level Arbp. he will call on his many followers to protect him. I just hope there are at least a few that will side with Vigano. I have already heard one say this morning that Vigano's words have to be vetted. We should be taking names. There are too many just like bergoglio that he has appointed that will back him up. It is like our judicial system here that have been appointed by Clinton, Bush and Obama.

With all these corrupt feds out, why are the emails not being investigated right now?
▼ spacepopecoast2coast
sounds big, surprised to see a lot of MSM outlets running actually a headline like this
although, it seems those articles begin by restating the accusations, and then attempt to discredit Vigano... https://www.npr.org/2018/08/26/642061113/archbishop-alleges-pope-francis-long-knew-about-abuse-calls-on-him-to-resign
but still encouraging to see, thanks for posting
