Forms of arranged marriage are fine, maybe even preferable, in my book. But the match should be made judiciously, exclusively for the benefit of the two people involved, ie preventing the young bride being "bought". Also the bride and groom should be around the same age. Also both should be old enough to give "informed consent".

Yeah it sucks when parents use their kids, I mean arranged for the daughter’s benefit, as in, I think I could choose better genetics for my daughter to cross with than she could by the time she is appropriate age.

The parents choosing? I mean I respect my moms opinion on everything and often go to her for advice but she isnt ultimately the one that will be sleeping in my bed at night (nor doing anything else in it!) so why should it be up to the parents solely? It makes a woman property not family and marriage a contract about commodity and not love and respect. We arent in the dark ages so lets come out of it with our governing shall we?
