Anyone forced to deal with cps, not knowing their right to an attorney, needs to learn. "Parent" and "guardian" are words the system use interchangeably to deny you an attorney. IF you have any form of disability protected under the Americans with disability act, be sure to utilize that. You have the right to an attorney in any and all court hearings, cases, trials, etc.

Thanks for that. You should know. They certainly would not tell you unless you asked and most people would not know and just figure they are screwed. I think people should get together and sue these agencies. There is a class action suit I believe in Minn. And of course the one in Az Maybe people are waking up and getting wise. There are less and less of those lawyers too. I heard they are thinning out the ranks of those that help the poor. It's sad that we have to fend for ourselves. Mental health is only for the rich. Vets and Children be damned.

Pro bono doesn't mean free. I know that from first hand experience. In my dealings with cps. I tried finding a lawyer on my own, via the "help" for the poor. The only guy that responded and called me, let me know right off the bat. He wanted money. Wouldn't mention a price though, just told me to come up with what I could.

I think you're right about them stopping all aid for poor people. Look at states where it's been criminalized to feed the homeless.

Thank God there are some that have their hearts in the right place. These poor children, and the Mothers that have had babies taken right out of their arms in the hospital. There is a special place in hell for those people.
