California Child Performer Services Permit law (AB 1066/Labor Code 1706) does NOT fully protect kids, and neither does Talent Agency law (Labor Code 1700): https://www.voat.co/v/pizzagate/2527511

The law is there to placate the public. They had no intention of putting it to good use. Can you imagine anyone in Tinsel Town wanting to go through this? They should actually include Producers and Directors. How would that turn out for George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. Anyone working with Children should have to pass this. Possibly might have saved the lives of many including J Barsi and Heather O. Another Child Protection Act that does nothing for Our Children but protects their Abusers. Shameful.

Nearly every thirsty ass parent circa 90's and below...Go with the "nice man" ok..we depend on your success to take care of the family. Its so sad to even think about but basically the deal with hollywood child actors. Shame on the parents that allow even encourage this shit!

WTF THIS IS INDEFENSIBLE

"Mark Lambert said that there will be undercover operations and prosecutions if the industry does not begin to more fully comply with the law."

This dude is tipping off the industry that he knows is corrupt. This is like the dirty cop calling the drug dealer and telling him he's about to be raided.

“At some point,” he said, “there’s going to be an undercover operation. You could go to jail. You could be fined $10,000. You could spend a lot of money on lawyers. But you can avoid all that by getting a permit, because if not enough people follow the law, there will be undercover…there will be prosecutions.”

The law has been on the book for 6 years. They all knew, he's telling them how to avoid being punished.

Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, SAG-AFTRA’s chief operating officer & general counsel, said that now is the time for those who don’t have the permit to get one. “If you don’t have one and didn’t know, now you know. He also said that if there was a “honeymoon period” for the law, “That honeymoon period is surely coming to an end. Complaints will come in, and action will be taken on those complaints.”

"HONEYMOON PERIOD"...seriously? Using the term "honeymoon" to reference lack of enforcement of CHILD SEX LAWS?

I want to kick this dude in the balls repeatedly.

GritD2

He is probably correct knowing how many pedo there are in Hollywood.

noworldorder

Yeah, that's weird. The correct verbiage is 'grace period'.

'Honeymoon period' is used in relationships, after you first start dating someone.

carmencita

What a sick term to use. These people are demented beyond repair. And grace? They have none and I venture to say they have never said it before a meal. This is so shameful.
