Haiti - Education : $2.3M to improve the education system The Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP), the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP-UNESCO) and the European Union (EU) launched the project "Improving the Haitian education system through planning and strategic management". With funding from the EU to the tune of $2.3 million over 3 years, this institutional collaboration aims to strengthen the MENFP's capacity to better plan the education system. Support from IIEP-UNESCO aims to improve the planning and management practices of the educational administration in Haiti over the period 2018-2021.

Well we know that's a Crock. Those Children will never benefit from that money. Wonder where it's really going.

https://www.garda.com/crisis24/news-alerts/179596/haiti-heightened-security-presence-amid-call-for-strike-nov-26-27

The Ministry of the Interior has deployed additional security forces along major roadways and at schools on Monday, November 26, as labor unions have called for a general strike to continue through November 27. Tensions remain high following unrest that broke out November 18-21, which left at least ten people dead. While protests subsided on November 22, business and government services remained disrupted in the aftermath. Officials have claimed that services at public administrative offices, banks, and schools will return to normal on November 26, despite calls for a strike. A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are expected near protest sites.

Violent protests took place November 18-21, with gunfire, roadblocks, and mob violence reported across the country - including in Cap-Haïtien, Pétion-Ville, Lalue, Croix-des-Bouquets, Les Cayes, and Chalon. At least ten people were killed, including six struck by a government vehicle near Port-au-Prince-Toussaint-Louverture International Airport (PAP) on November 21; the incident incited a violent response from the surrounding crowd, which attacked the vehicle; police attempted to disperse the crowd using tear gas.

Numerous demonstrations have been staged in recent months to call for greater government transparency after several public officials, including President Jovenel Moïse, were implicated in a scandal related to the alleged misuse of PetroCaribe funds.

Individuals in Haiti are advised to keep abreast of the situation, strictly avoid all protests and associated roadblocks due to the likelihood of violence, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities and their home governments (e.g. travel restrictions). Be prepared to shelter in place in the event of prolonged civil unrest (e.g. stockpile supplies of preserved foods and fresh water).

Haiti doesn't seem to have a chance do they. Look at what is happening with poor leadership...…..

Moise surely was helped by the Clintons in getting elected. It's the same as here. The candidates are hand picked. But Good God, yes. They have suffered greatly. So many countries are suffering right now including Yemen and Syria. Check out the raid in Houston - the post on the front page right now.

@Scirel : I will flair the post 'Possible Disinformation' for the time being.

According to this news outlet

http://www.loophaiti.com/content/non-larmee-americaine-na-pas-pris-controle-de-laeroport-dhaiti

the story was debunked by the US embassy in Haiti.

The US embassy has issued demonstration and security alerts in the past days though:

https://ht.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/security-and-travel-information/

This is the embassy's Twitter:

https://twitter.com/acspap?lang=en

Last tweet was two hours ago.

You might want to check their Twitter again in order to get updates on the situation. There were demonstrations planned for today.

We might change the flair tomorrow if it turns out that the story is debunked on the embassy website or other news outlets or verified by independent news sources.

I will refrain from flairing it 'Debunked' today.

@Vindicator : please feel free to change to 'Debunked' if you think it is appropriate. Thanks.

@EricKaliberhall @Crensch @ben_matlock

Scirel

Well, @think- , thanks for following up.

Indeed, the info remains sketchy. Curious, though, that MSM isn't even touching this

It's confirmed that the Embassy was shut down. Makes sense that USM was sent in to help secure the Embassy and at least keep a close eye on what is coming in and out of the airport.

Always want to respect the mods, but I would not put too much weight on this story . Gotta believe the Clintons are deep into the crap in this country, especially with their installed government. Here is a quote from the article: "The Embassy calls for vigilance against misinformation rampant on social networks." Sounds like a "they protest too much, methinks" scenario.

Again, no one seems to have a clear pulse on what is going down here. Brenden Dilley says there are "some interesting orders being given" to the military stationed there, and that is all he can say at this point. About the 50min mark here.

The point of the post is to alert folks on this list who may have been following what is going on in Haiti that something is going down and it's worth knowing about and keeping an eye on it. We also have independent reports of US troops being called up in droves in the US here and here . Call what I'm feeling spidey-sense...

Don't know if you have a "watch" flair?

Again, thanks for being a Mod.

think-

I would not put too much weight on this story.

Yes, that's why I didn't flair 'Debunked' although the article said it was debunked. I thought that there might be reasons for not reporting that US military might have been involved somehow. (The same applies for the Embassy's and the State Department's websites btw.)

Don't know if you have a "watch" flair?

No, unfortunately we haven't. @Vindicator , could we maybe create a 'Developing Story' flair or something? Or a 'Watch' flair, as suggested by OP?

Otherwise, I'd suggest to keep the 'Unverified' flair for the time being, and have an eye on the development.

@Scirel , would you maybe ping us if you should have new info, and edit the OP? That would be terrific!

Again, thanks for being a Mod.

My pleasure. ;-)

Thanks for contributing. Please keep up the good work.

@EricKaliberhall @ben_matlock @Crensch

wokeasfook

Great job here as usual guys. Both OP and Mod on the same page. I like it.

We shall keep an eye on developments. Thanks.

think-

;-) :-)

Vindicator

could we maybe create a 'Developing Story' flair or something? Or a 'Watch' flair, as suggested by OP?

We do have "Potential Lead" flair for things that need more digging.

That might be appropriate here. I know the media is not supposed to report on ongoing operations that could jeopardize national security or classified missions. I'm not sure if they have been forced too legally, or if it is just policy, but I do know it's a thing.

On the other hand, deep in that Twitter thread was this article from the Guardian claiming similar -- from 2010: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2010/jan/17/us-accused-aid-effort-haiti . Fake News often is inspired by read headlines taken out of context. There were several people in the thread who live in Haiti or were at the airport yesterday saying it there was no sign it was true.

think-

I'd suggest to keep the 'Unverified' flair then for the time being, and to watch how the story will develop.

YogSoggoth

Well, we could contact some online whistle blowers from Haiti or Papa Doc land. Oh yeah, de Clintons done killed them all.

letsdothis2

Why don't you ask the OP to modify the post? There are many stories of the people taking to the streets and being killed. Zero coverage by the media. Are we going to do the same here?

think-

Ok, I will change the flair to 'Unverified'.

Thank you, @letsdothis2 , also for the link below. You are right.

I am about to leave for the day, and will ask @EricKaliberhall to check the situation when he'll start his modding shift during the US night.

The only thing I might change is point 4) - It is believed the CF took in about 2 Billion dollars for Haitian relief and they paid out about 30 Million, which didn't really go to help anyone except in the wealthier suburbs.

Are_we_sure

It is believed the CF took in about 2 Billion dollars for Haitian relief and they paid out about 30 Million

Believed. But entirely bullshit. Believed by people who know nothing about International relief and who runs it.

Scirel

Hillary stated explicitly in a debate with Trump that the CF only paid out 30 million. The intake is based on estimates, of which I've heard numbers as high as $10 Billion. What do you know?

Are_we_sure

You should go back and watch that clip. Yes, they paid out $30, because that is all the Clinton Foundation raised for Haiti projects.

The intake is based on estimates, of which I've heard numbers as high as $10 Billion.

Every cent donated to the Clinton Foundation in its history doesn't add up to $10 billion. You are making a fundamental mistake here. You are confusing the money donated by the International Community (billions) with the money donated by the Clinton Foundation. There are two different pools of money and they were administered by two different entities. The Clinton Foundation did not control $10 billion in Haitian aid money.

The simple fact that people don't seem to get is the Clinton Foundation was not in charge of AID to Haiti.

What do you know?

Several fucktons more than you on this subject.

letsdothis2

Believed by people who know nothing about International relief and who runs it.

Absolute crap.

https://www.breitbart.com/radio/2016/10/13/former-president-of-haitian-senate-after-what-they-did-haiti-clintons-worst-thing-that-could-ever-hit-us/

Former President of Haitian Senate: After What They Did to Haiti, ‘Clintons Are the Worst Thing That Could Ever Hit the United States’

“The Clintons, first of all, invaded Haiti. Bill Clinton invaded Haiti in September 1994, with 23,000 American soldiers, at the cost of $5 billion to the American taxpayer’s money, when it was completely useless. Haiti has a completely outdated army, 7,000 men that were ready to flee as soon as the Americans hit Haiti,” he recalled. “So it was not an invasion to restore democracy as he always said. It was an invasion to establish the Clinton dynasty in Haiti, and they have done it.”

“Now, jumping back from 1994 to 2010, when the earthquake happened, it was a gold rush then because the whole world, and American taxpayer’s money, dipped into their pockets and gave $14.3 billion. I’m not saying “million.” I’m saying “billions” of dollars; $14.3 billion dollars were given to the Clinton Foundation. They were appointed by Obama and Mr. Ban Ki-moon for the relief effort for Haiti, and the Haitian people have not even seen two percent of that money,” Sansaricq charged. (Ban Ki-moon is the secretary-general of the United Nations.)

“Only Friends of Bill Clinton, FOB, Friend of Bill Clinton, Friend of Bill, were actually given contracts to do things in Haiti. Millions of dollars went to them, and millions went to the Clintons. Nothing, absolutely nothing, was done, sir,” he told Boyle. “So now, 2016, Haiti is being hit with a devastating hurricane, Matthew. No wonder, right now, we have over a thousand deaths in Haiti right now, and the whole southern part of the country is being wiped out completely.”

“Nothing, absolutely nothing, was done by the Clintons in 2010 with all the money. It was a gold rush for the Clintons, and it was pay-for-play by the Clintons, who is gonna get a contract in Haiti. And again, this is the tip of the iceberg. We don’t know where the money went, and we would like to know where the money went because Clinton is responsible for billions of dollars in relief funds that were given for the Haitian people,” he said.

“The Clintons have absolutely nothing of that,” he said. “As a matter of fact, they used the earthquake in Haiti and the money they had to put more money in their pockets. Let me give you an example: Haiti has a federal company. It’s owned by Bill Clinton’s friend Denis O’Brien. We know that in 2014, Denis O’Brien gave the Clinton Foundation, for having the contract for DigiCell in Haiti, $30 million, and he pocketed himself $265 million.”

Are_we_sure

The guy they quote dissing the Clinton is Republican from Florida who ran for the US congress in 2010 and 2012. But he doesn't hate Clinton because he's a Republican, Bernard Sansaricq is also was one of the thugs serving in the military junta that overthrew the Haitian government in 1991 and prevented the elected President from taking office.. This Brutal military junta was put down when Clinton invaded Haiti to restore Aristide. "President of the Haitian Senate" is nothing to be proud of when it's self-proclaimed as part of an illegal government. Here's him trying to claim backing of American politicians

"We've always had a not-so-open connection with Bob Dole . . . , a back channel," boasted Bernard Sansari, self-proclaimed president of Haiti's Senate. "We see Dole as someone who understands us."

Dole angrily denied any contacts with the Haitian regime and dismissed the claim as "delusional."

"If the thugs running Haiti's illegal government are banking on support from me or the Republican Party, they will not get it," he told the Senate. Nevertheless, the regime's officials say they still consider him one of their best friends in Washington.

carmencita

Oh Stop. We all know what the Clintons did down there. You are not fooling any of us. Bill Clinton was put in charge of the whole operation. I am not going to waste my breath arguing with you. You like to waste our time so we have less time to research. Bye.

Are_we_sure

Oh Stop. We all know what the Clintons did down there. You are not fooling any of us.

Given that you just tried to push a radical-right politician who was part of a brutal military junta as a disinterested commentator on Haiti you have some gall to use the word fooling.

Secondly, I very much doubt you could put together a truthful narrative on what Clinton did.

How the Clinton Foundation Got Rich off Poor Hatians

It filtered money through Haiti and back to itself.

In January 2015 a group of Haitians surrounded the New York offices of the Clinton Foundation. They chanted slogans, accusing Bill and Hillary Clinton of having robbed them of “billions of dollars.” Two months later, the Haitians were at it again, accusing the Clintons of duplicity, malfeasance, and theft. And in May 2015, they were back, this time outside New York’s Cipriani, where Bill Clinton received an award and collected a $500,000 check for his foundation. “Clinton, where’s the money?” the Haitian signs read. “In whose pockets?” Said Dhoud Andre of the Commission Against Dictatorship, “We are telling the world of the crimes that Bill and Hillary Clinton are responsible for in Haiti.”

Haitians like Andre may sound a bit strident, but he and the protesters had good reason to be disgruntled. They had suffered a heavy blow from Mother Nature, and now it appeared that they were being battered again — this time by the Clintons. Their story goes back to 2010, when a massive 7.0 earthquake devastated the island, killing more than 200,000 people, leveling 100,000 homes, and leaving 1.5 million people destitute.

The devastating effect of the earthquake on a very poor nation provoked worldwide concern and inspired an outpouring of aid money intended to rebuild Haiti. Countries around the world, as well as private and philanthropic groups such as the Red Cross and the Salvation Army, provided some $10.5 billion in aid, with $3.9 billion of it coming from the United States.

The Haitians were initially sympathetic to the Clintons. One may say they believed in the message of “hope and change.” With his customary overstatement, Bill told the media, “Wouldn’t it be great if they become the first wireless nation in the world? They could, I’m telling you, they really could.”

The Haitians were initially sympathetic to the Clintons. One may say they believed in the message of “hope and change.” With his customary overstatement, Bill told the media, “Wouldn’t it be great if they become the first wireless nation in the world? They could, I’m telling you, they really could.”

Where did it go? It did not escape the attention of the Haitians that Bill Clinton was the designated UN representative for aid to Haiti. Following the earthquake, Bill Clinton had with media fanfare established the Haiti Reconstruction Fund. Meanwhile, his wife Hillary was the United States secretary of state. She was in charge of U.S. aid allocated to Haiti. Together the Clintons were the two most powerful people who controlled the flow of funds to Haiti from around the world.

Haitian deals appeared to be a quid pro quo for filling the coffers of the Clintons.

Are_we_sure

Lol.

Like I said you would not be able to manage a truthful narrative, but I never thought you be D'Souza level dishonest.

The Clinton Foundation got Rich of Haiti? How did you fall for his shell game? Got Rich? The Clinton Foundation is a nonprofit charity. 86.6 of its proceeds go to charitable programs which is one of the best percentages in the world of philanthropy. The Clinton's do not take any salary or other compensation, nor do they control how the money is spent.

This is a big time fail.

Not long for this Earth. We need to preserve these people for as long as possible.

That stuff is bad news. Should all be shot into the Sun in a slightly expensive rocket funded by lot's of countries. Seriously, I do not know what to do with the roundup. Could use help. I will spread. Not funny at all. Volcanoes could work! Feedback?

carmencita

How about locking them in a room with the Ebola Virus. Just leave them alone till they are dead. I have no feelings or remorse at all for any of them. They have caused immense suffering and horrid pain for many. They have raped, murdered, even small children and tortured many. No mercy. Or a Deadly Roundup Cocktail. Make it full strength. Or run it through their bodies like a transfusion. The possibilities are endless. thinking of punishments. Is there anything that would be horrid enough for what they have done? I think not. When I think about watching the reports day after day about the thousands lying in the streets, rotting flesh until they were thrown into a huge hole, it's hard to find any sympathy for the perpetrators. None. Every human deserves a respectable burial.

YogSoggoth

I am with you on most points. They are on target. More useful alive, believe it or not. Thousands of well intentioned, armed people, know they done wrong. What holds them back? Fear of the government? Maybe. I think it is because of the rule of law. Even Vigilantes respect that. More so, I would gesture.

carmencita

Evan vigilantes respect that.

Exactly. Which doesn’t say much for the cabal. We know they hate us. But we have no respect for them at all. When I didn’t know what they were up to I looked up to some but they have lost it all. But Im sure they don’t care. It’s all about money and power. And evil things. The people of Haiti are fed up.

YogSoggoth

Never did respect the rule of law unless represented. Yog is foremost in law. Yog has respect for everyone here, except for the obvious shills. I feel sorry for the shills, kinda.

carmencita

I pity the shills. Up to a certain point. The pedo shills are another story entirely. No pity there.

YogSoggoth

Expect more, like all the other sites.Just ride on with it.

carmencita

Exactly. I just ignore most of them. Just too busy and a waste of time. But when I can add something that will red pill people then I do.

YogSoggoth

Red pill? My best friend is a part Chickasaw. He is feeling under the weather, so I will argue in his behalf. Before you reply, I will tell you that the Chickasaw is, and was the most hated tribe in the central region. They claimed half the Western Highlands of the Sioux, Cheyenne, and other tribes west of the Mississippi. Texas? Yep they owned that too! They also amazingly claimed half of the Cherokee Nations land. Mind all, that not only did they never set foot on the West, except for scurrilous hunting raids, most also never ventured outside of present day Memphis. Chickasaws were, and are still some awesome fighters though. Point being, from a native American Perspective, is that you can not argue with certain people. You can fight them. Chickasaws, dems de enemy's.

GritD2

And for that they were forced to only have inports instead of building up thier infrastructure for industry. This keeps everyone poor and unable to make themselves better. The one guy that could have changed all of that was almost assassinated via poison, while he survived he was unable to continue due toboth brain and body damage .
