If this is the room with the bar that you enter through the curtain then there IS a door leading to the outdoors. The fire could have been some chemical used or what they use in films. I believe there is something they use that doesn’t grow in size. Again I am not an expert on this but just something I have read.

Here's the comparison photo showing the curtain and back wall with people playing ping pong. It matches wall and curtain behind the band. This area does not match what we see in the security video. Was anyone playing ping pong when the video guy went back there? Did anyone see him carrying the plastic bag? In the video, the guy ISN'T WEARING GLOVES. Did they check the charcoal lighter fluid can for fingerprints? Was the DIAPER AND BABY BOTTLE left here? Were they checked for fingerprints? Who broke the first news story on this event? How did they find out about the fire? The first one I saw was not MSM, and had what appears to be a fake photo of the fire, after seeing the security video. If it wasn't fake, WHO TOOK THAT PHOTO? It was cropped so that all that you saw was flames up close. It gave the false impression that the fire was huge and out of control. This does not match the fire dept. description saying it was small enough for employees to put out with a fire extinguisher and it was already out when they arrived. I guess Comet's fire insurance claim will tell the extent of the physical as well as SMOKE damage. OR WILL THEY FILE ONE?

There are curtains at the back of Comet, big Black ones like the two that separate the stage room/ping pong room from the events room where this was. An outside view of Comet shows that there is one small boarded up window (from the inside) so it must have been this. I'd always assumed that the curtains that cover the back wall were just an easy way to cover up a shitty back wall.

Did Comet always pay their bands on time?

I've seen plenty of pictures of various events taking place in there, so don't see it as a kids party room, see it more so as a room that can be used for kids parties. I don't find kids parties held there suspicious but that room itself could be used for 'meetings' and private parties for powerful people, for sure. I've also seen that door used by people wanting to get some air and/or smokers too.

More thinking on this. The video released by the fire dept. was for IDENTIFICATION PURPOSES. They cannot confirm that the flickering blob of light in the video was an actual fire because NO fireman WITNESSED it. It is the OPINION of the linked article writer that this was the fire. The "fire" in the video appeared to be higher than the man. Normally at that stage, it would rapidly spread and produce smoke --neither of which we see, nor was that reported by the Comet employees. It must have been a very short time from this video clip to the time the employees arrived with fire extinguishers. This could be determined by the time stamp on the video and the time that a call was made to the fire dept. RECORDED TIMES IS IMPORTANT. Did the employees come in through the back door, or through the curtain? There were reports in some of the early articles on this that said they saw this guy CALMLY LEAVING the building when they were evacuating it due to the fire. So, he left out the FRONT door? No one tried to follow him? According to the article, they seemed to be immediately suspicious of him. We need to see the original fire report, the time stamp (where we can see it) on the video, the part of the video where the fire is extinguished, and confirmation of which door the suspect exited, which entrance to the room the EMPLOYEES used to extinguish the fire. Did these same employees see the suspect leaving the back room?

How many customers were evacuated? Was the suspect seen by other customers in the back playing ping pong before the "fire"? So many questions. Why did they bring in AFT for such a "small fire"? IS THIS STANDARD PROCEDURE?

This is the same area that Welch went into according to the only customer who was reported as seeing him walk by. They were in the ping pong area and said he went behind the curtain. Then there was testimony that an employee entered through the BACK DOOR and saw Welch standing there. IS THERE ONLY ONE BACK DOOR? Is it in this room? VERY STRANGE.
