It became clear when researching @darkknight111 's theory about Heather O'Rourke's cause of death that this topic is not discussed much among medical personnel, may be woefully underreported and may even be actively repressed. Think- suggested I turn my comment in his series into a separate research thread where we can collect reports of incidents of extreme internal trauma.

I did a cursory look for statistics and or medical treatment information on health complications related to child rape, and there wasn't much. Someone who knows a physician with better access to medical journals may be able to find more. Most relevant was this:

Abstract

Homicides exclusively due to genital trauma have not been widely reported, and anorectal trauma in sexual assaults is uncommon. We describe a case of a 45-year-old white woman who sustained devastating homicidal colorectal trauma that served as a primary cause of death in the setting of rape. Our patient sustained a 15-cm laceration of the anterior rectal wall and ultimately died of peritonitis and sepsis. Death from rectal perforation and sepsis in the setting of sexual assault is rare and has only been documented in 3 other cases, 2 pediatric patients and 1 elderly debilitated patient. Other representative and unique methods of perforation are reviewed along with a brief discussion of the development of peritonitis after perforating colorectal trauma.

I feel this could be a powerful resource for future works of our researchers, especially in combating pedo normalization and child sexual consent. As I was scanning through Pubmed studies, I saw multiple statements about how physical trauma in child rape is rare and heals within days.

Blunt genital trauma in girls is fairly common.

The presenting symptoms are usually the presence of blood in the underpants or on the perineum shortly after injury.

Blunt genital trauma most commonly results from straddle injury.

The most common types of injury in decreasing order of frequency are lacerations or contusions of the perineal body, vagina, labia, urethra, and rectum.

Because of the extreme difficulty of performing a thorough genitourinary examination in an awake, uncomfortable, anxious, and embarrassed child, the majority of patients are best evaluated in the operating room under general anesthesia.

Indeed, as many as 76% of patients will have more extensive injuries than can be appreciated in the emergency department. [!!]

Management of female genital trauma is dictated by the type and extent of injury.

Vulvar hematomas may cause urinary retention and may benefit from placement of a urinary catheter and evacuation of large hematomas. Necrotic contused tissue should be debrided.

Lacerations are primarily repaired after hemostasis is achieved. Absorbable sutures are used to preclude the need for removal. Vaginoscopy, urethroscopy, and proctoscopy may be necessary to evaluate the injury more thoroughly.

Female genital injuries involving severe pelvic fractures or sexual assault and interpersonal violence require specialized treatment. Although many vulvar lacerations are the result of sports-related straddle-type injuries, genital trauma is reported in 20–53% of sexual assault victims. [referring to adult victims I guess]

If such history is elicited, appropriate support services and police involvement must be secured. Informed consent for the patient assessment should be obtained if a history of sexual assault has been verified.

This assessment must include history, physical examination, and collection of laboratory and forensic specimens as outlined by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists.

Female patients with external genital injuries should be suspected of having injury to the internal female organs as well as the lower urinary tract and urethra. Many female urethral injuries are associated with vaginal bleeding.

Female genital injury in the setting of pelvic fracture or impalement injury should include cystourethrography, proctoscopy, and laparotomy as indicated.

Could this be what happened to Heather? Formation of an abcess that led to sepsis, and susequently to her death?

Abcesses only form in superficial tissue rather than within internal organs.

What killed Heather was mainly in her small intestine. Since the autopsy didn’t specify which section (there are 3), Occam’s Razor given what we know makes the illeum (the last 3rd, closest to the large intestine) the most logical.

Hi Vindicator, I'm thinking maybe also look in crime journals and/or forensic and psychiatric journals. Here's why: About 25 years ago, I worked at a facility for troubled teens, many of whom had a propensity toward drug and alcohol addictions. We had a D & A counselor who was very good at coordinating field trips, guest speakers, etc. So this one time we had a guest speaker -- a retired homicide detective from an urban area -- who talked about how of all the homicides he had investigated something like 98% were drug and alcohol related. He showed very graphic slides of the murder scenes as he spoke about each case. The teens were captivated and well behaved throughout. Then for the final case he spoke about a crackhead who had taken his six month old baby for the weekend as per custody agreement but hadn't returned the baby to its mother by Sunday night. So cops were called and dad was tracked down and he was sketchy and story didn't add up but it took them a few more days to get a warrant, etc. Ultimately they found the baby dead in a dresser drawer in a nasty old basement where the father sometimes dwelled. The baby had been anally raped. But they still had to pin the heinous crime on the father and they wanted him off the streets, pronto. So they collected their evidence, put it in a box and asked the crime lab to work on it STAT. And to compel the forensics guys to move fast on the case, they put the most heinous photo of that dear little baby and its deadly injury right one top of the box, so that when they opened it, they would be appalled into action. Well, that was the slide he ended the presentation with. Then it was lunch time and nobody ate. And that photo stayed in everybody's head for a long, long, time, including mine. I can still see it in my mind if I want to, but I don't. Anyway, that is why I say maybe search journals about the criminally insane or the like. Ugh.

Who knows how poisoned modern Christian networks are.

There are other stories on that website about a church (possibly same or different, I don't know) which funded drug research and discovered a lethal virus which it tested and deployed on a third world village but got out of hand and became a problem. Insane what really goes on in the world.

Check for kids, too. Most kids don't die of sepsis from rape induced anorectal trauma, at least among the reported cases. Of course, there is no way to know about kids who just disappear. I would imagine anyone violent enough to cause such damage to a kid is not going to suddenly be inclined to race them to an emergency room. And the smaller a child is, the easier it is to get rid of the body so it's never found.

Found an older PDF report from the 2002 DOJ's Sexual Assault Evidence: National Assessment and Guidebook containing statistics from the 1990s. Page 111 has statistics.

Female victims were targets of more non-incest offenders than were males, and were much more frequent targets of incest offenders. Non-incest offenders who targeted males as victims reported more than seven times as many victims as did those who targeted females. Of all the categories of pedophilia, the majority of child molestations were committed by individuals who targeted young boys outside the home, while the next most frequent were committed by individuals involved in incest with a female victim.

Especially very young children often need surgery when raped. As do adults when raped with objects.
