The Italian word more similar to it is "preda", that means "prey" or "booty" (i.e. something hunted for), but is used also as a last name. Therefore possibly "Prada" derives from "Preda". These surnames are typically Lombard, as there are more "Prada" named people and more "Preda" named people in Lombardy than in the rest of Italy. The Roman elite fled there. Edict of Milan. The Edict is popularly thought to concern only Christianity, and even to make Christianity the official religion of the Empire (which recognition did not actually occur until the Edict of Thessalonica in 380). Indeed, the Edict expressly grants religious liberty not only to Christians, who had been the object of special persecution, but goes even further and grants liberty to all religions:

When you see that this has been granted to [Christians] by us, your Worship will know that we have also conceded to other religions the right of open and free observance of their worship for the sake of the peace of our times, that each one may have the free opportunity to worship as he pleases; this regulation is made that we may not seem to detract from any dignity of any religion.

— "Edict of Milan", Lactantius, On the Deaths of the Persecutors (De Mortibus Persecutorum), ch. 48. opera, ed. 0. F. Fritzsche, II, p 288 sq. (Bibl Patr. Ecc. Lat. XI).[9] Since Licinius composed the Edict with the intent of publishing it in the east[citation needed] upon his hoped-for victory over Maximinus, it expresses the religious policy accepted by Licinius, a pagan, rather than that of Constantine[citation needed], who was already a Christian. Constantine's own policy went beyond merely tolerating Christianity: he tolerated paganism and other religions, but he actively promoted Christianity. Just in case anyone was confused.

Constantine the great was probably not called that by everyone at the time. Lombardy, Prada, pizzagate.

There is a 1965 book titled "Mary Astor's Purple Diary," the definition of purple in this case being profane or shocking. I wonder if this is the origin of the Purple Diary of today.

Here's the backstory: https://www.wordreference.com/definition/purple

Mary Astor's Purple Diary: The Great American Sex Scandal of 1936

by Edward Sorel

In 1965, a young, up-and-coming illustrator by the name of Edward Sorel was living in a $97-a-month railroad flat on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Resolved to fix up the place, Sorel began pulling up the linoleum on his kitchen floor, tearing away layer after layer until he discovered a hidden treasure: issues of the New York Daily News and Daily Mirror from 1936, each ablaze with a scandalous child custody trial taking place in Hollywood and starring the actress Mary Astor. Sorel forgot about his kitchen and lost himself in the story that had pushed Hitler and Franco off the front pages.

At the time of the trial, Mary Astor was still only a supporting player in movies, but enough of a star to make headlines when it came out that George S. Kaufman, then the most successful playwright on Broadway and a married man to boot, had been her lover. The scandal revolved around Mary’s diary, which her ex-husband, Dr. Franklyn Thorpe, had found when they were still together. Its incriminating contents had forced Mary to give up custody of their daughter in order to obtain a divorce. By 1936 she had decided to challenge the arrangement, even though Thorpe planned to use the diary to prove she was an unfit mother. Mary, he claimed, had not only kept a tally of all her extramarital affairs but graded them—and he’d already alerted the press. Enraptured by this sensational case and the actress at the heart of it, Sorel began a life-long obsession that now reaches its apex.

Featuring over sixty original illustrations, Mary Astor's Purple Diary narrates and illustrates the travails of the Oscar-winning actress alongside Sorel’s own personal story of discovering an unlikely muse. Throughout, we get his wry take on all the juicy details of this particular slice of Hollywood Babylon, including Mary's life as a child star—her career in silent films began at age fourteen—presided over by her tyrannical father, Otto, who "managed" her full-time and treated his daughter like an ATM machine. Sorel also animates her teenage love affair with probably the biggest star of the silent era, the much older John Barrymore, who seduced her on the set of a movie and convinced her parents to allow her to be alone with him for private "acting lessons."

Sorel imbues Mary Astor's life with the kind of wit and eye for character that his art is famous for, but here he also emerges as a writer, creating a compassionate character study of Astor, a woman who ultimately achieved a life of independence after spending so much of it bullied by others.

Featuring ribald and rapturous art throughout, Mary Astor's Purple Diary is a passion project that becomes the masterpiece of one of America’s greatest illustrators.

Great compilation! You can add this: http://purple.fr/diary/one-of-the-last-pictures-of-dash-snow-giving-a-bath-to/

Rachel Chandler took one of the last pictures of Secret Snow before Dash died. Dash Snow's grandfather Robert Thurman, is Uma Thurman's father.

So this man never used the internet, but liked the purple diary photos so much he asked RC to take pictures of him giving a bath to his child, the last bath he would give her before his death, and on his prominently displayed arm is a tattoo which reads Blood Bath. Seems like a statement to me (and a run on sentence, sorry)

kestrel9

Yes, very sad. A father that can't grow up https://archive.is/aXzW3 who's life is defined by the ominous circle of friends who created his celebrity.

definitely a statement (very sad)

Andre Balazs was hitched with Uma. And with Ark's Arpad Busson. Hollywood likes to make a joke about Uma--she always dates the boss. Look at her filmography again, it's uncanny.

Maybe they're just carrying out sex magick. Everyone sleeps with everyone until they summon Rosemary's Baby /s

You mean the guy who is into Tibetan Buddhism and a fan of the fishy Dalai Lama (@ dark tantric left-hand path tradition in Tibetan Buddhism). Uma Thurman is also into Tibetan Buddhism.

No.4 – Hedi Slimane: Interzone

Fashion designer Hedi Slimane is connected to Satanist Marilyn Manson. Manson was Yves Saint Laurent's menswear face in 2013:

How Saint Laurent Designer Hedi Slimane Became Fashion's Music Kingpin

Once Slimane put Marilyn Manson front and center in his pre-fall 2013 campaign—dark lipstick and all—all bets were off.

Saddam Hussein's Palace on the river was converted into a museum. Trend? Can't just go digging around, because the Museum security will call the cops and parade you in front of the media as a nutjob. Think extensive remodeling.

think-

I recently learned that there is really a trend called 'dark tourism'.

YogSoggoth

I saw that somewhere too. Probably same source, but who cares. Dark tourism is when I travel to a place where other peoples skin is darker than mine. The first thing I would ask for is AC.

think-

I - ahem - think the 'dark tourism' I was reading about was tourism to dark places, like houses where murders had occured, or places that are thought to be creepy. IIRC, the Yorkshire Saddlemoores have this kind of tourism. There were murders on the moor, and satanic worshipping places (ancient menhirs) etc.

YogSoggoth

Everyone knows I am a jerk. It is no secret. I have friends in dark places.

think-

Dash Snow

IIRC, Dash Snow is also a friend of Hanna Linden, a photographer friend of Rachel Chandler.

I carried on my research today on RC. Yes she is involved in creepy shit. Always implied and never overtly stated.

I found the original link to Purple magazine by doing a very simple search. I didn't look at the web searches. I looked exclusively at images that came back. They communicate in images.

When I felt sufficiently creeped out enough I knew I should start a deeper dive.

If you search for text on these guys you miss the big communication.

Their language is entirely subliminal and symbolic. Learning the pedo satanist symbolism is essential for this technique!

Nothing major to report today.

Factfinder2

They communicate in images.

Interesting. See my other comment in this thread about "Mary Astor's Purple Diary." It is a book that tells the story via illustrations.
