This is an old campaign going back more than 40 years, when the National Council for Civil Liberties (known today as Liberty) lobbied the British Parliament on behalf of the Paedophile Information Exchange to decriminalise child the possession and distribution of CP unless it could be proven that the child(ren) in the images had been harmed in some way. Interestingly, the solicitor (and later senior British Labour Party luminary) who acted on behalf of the NCCL/PIE, Harriet Harman, was the niece of Marxist peer Lord Longford, who befriended and later campaigned (unsuccessfully, thankfully) for the early release of serial child rapist/torturer/murderer Myra Hindley. Regarding the proposed "treatment" of paedophiles/pederasts who view CP, I am reminded of a section in Richard D. Hall's excellent documentary series on the Madeleine McCann case, where he talks about McCann apologist Dr. Ray Wyre and his 'Gracewell Clinic' which he established for the treatment of sex offenders (including paedophiles/pederasts). Part of this so-called treatment involved getting patients to masturbate to pornography for extended periods of time (called "masturbation satiation" by Wyre) in the belief that offenders would not want to commt rape or sexual assault after these sessions. I wonder if this is the sort of "treatment" paedophiles/pederasts will undergo under the new guidelines? Incidentally, after his death in 2008, Wyre's name later showed up on the registry of the notorious boy brothel, the Elm Guest House.
