Sorry, you misinterpreted my statement. Child-trafficking is slavery-- that is what I was referring to. Our nation was founded on slavery. It was the economic engine that allowed America to thrive and grow. Sad, but true. This is why the Founding Documents are so amazing. They were the product of slave owners influenced by Christian culture. Many Christians at the time did not support slavery, however, the Americans with money and influence were the minority slave owners/ traders. Even so, the slave- owners were having to justify their own freedom from the tyranny of the Crown. Thus, the Declaration is for ALL citizens, because God is no respecter of men, and he does not look upon the outward appearance, but the HEART. Martin Luther King recognized this, and demanded fair and equitable treatment for the descendants of the formerly enslaved. His authority came from the Declaration itself:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed..."

Many of the Sephardi diaspora lived in the American colonies. Yes, some were also plantation owners and slave traders. Some intermarried with other non-jewish plantation families. Check out "James DeWolf and the Rhode Island Slave Trade." None of the signers of the Declaration were Jewish.
