Yes, they do get away with everything. Daddy Trudeau put a lot of the nonsense in place while in power (15 yrs FFS). He also gave special rights to Quebec. Everything that happens in Canada regarding taxes and various other things, is different in Quebec. Most provinces in Canada send billions of dollars to Quebec every year in transfer payments. It's obscene. Plus the British monarchy owns much of the country. What could go wrong? The globalists own Canada hook, line and sinker.
