A teacher charged with sexually abusing 28 first-grade girls and touching dozens more manipulated them so much they "would compete for his attention." He even told one girl he would marry her when she got older, according to a Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell.

Video recorded inside the gymnasium where Austin Hopkins taught P.E. shows him sexually abusing 28 girls and touching 88 total over a three-month period. “They all took place inside the gymnasium area … we have video of all of them," Hopkins' was indicted on 36 counts of gross sexual imposition.

security video from the Clearcreek Elementary gym shows Hopkins "placing many of the girls on his lap, straddling him in what I would describe as a sexual manner." It also shows Hopkins "putting his hands up their shirts and skirts," the prosecutor said.

Twelve families filed a class action lawsuit, alleging school officials knew the teacher locked the doors during the school day and installed a doorbell to the gymnasium. omg.............

Hopkins was also an assistant coach at the Coffman YMCA in Springboro, where he worked with 12-year-old swimmers.

Hopkins submitted his resignation letter. As soon as the YMCA learned of the allegations at the school, they began their own investigation.

Nothing has been found, but the investigation continues.

In addition to working at the YMCA and Springboro Schools, Hopkins also worked as a manager at Swim Safe Pool Management in Loveland, and as a substitute teacher at the Southwest Ohio Council of Governments.

Hopkins was a first-year teacher at Springboro after working as a substitute the year prior. He had been reviewed twice per Ohio guidelines. Hopkins has since resigned

The school district filed a report with the Ohio Department of Professional Conduct reporting that Hopkins was placed on administrative leave in order to "conduct an investigation due to a parent complaint about possible misconduct."

Well,hell. I didn't hear a word about this (after the first allegations were made public) and this would be on the local news.

So glad they caught this guy before he got to years and years of this under his belt... Terrible for the current victims, but thank God he didn't get the chance to victimize more little girls!

Parents must start asking questions of their Children. Gym coaches/teachers are to be suspect. Yes there are many good ones but there are many sick perverted pedos that are getting into this field to get their hands onto Our Children. This guy should not be walking the streets. If they suspect someone of murder they can pick him off the street and lock him up. I think the # will go much higher. I can’t even imagine what those parents are going through.

yes! My sister constantly tells her daughters to be aware of all these things, she is so real with them because she is aware of all this like us. Her kids friends are totally clueless about any adult danger it seems.

Idk what is up with the parental generation of today. Their heads are in the clouds. Dazed and confused about what’s going on in the real world.
